Culture always beats tactics

Translated from the original Spanish article.
The effective integration of artificial intelligence into companies requires a cultural transformation.
This is by no means a trivial matter. I suspect it will be one of the major sources of resistance to truly realizing this technology’s potential.
The need for change cuts across the whole organization, and in some places it has been approached the wrong way, on the assumption that it means cutting headcount and replacing people. I maintain that this is not the way, from an operational standpoint as well.
The way is to rethink and redefine roles, and to expand, in our minds and in those of the whole team, the limits of what we used to consider possible.
It is a process of cultural transformation toward professional versatility.
And every change requires creating the conditions for it. People don’t do things because you want them to, but because they want to. Our job is to create the conditions for those we work with to make a decision that aligns with the change we’re seeking.
This cultural transformation has to be strategic and prioritized. It is not a way of buying time, nor of downplaying day-to-day needs, but of committing to real cultural change.
Because culture always beats tactics.
